How to write a successful CV

Be specific about what you want to do and what you're good at

Keep it short – usually, a CV should be no more than two pages of A4

Your CV should include:

your job objective; why you’re applying for the role

work experience, such as responsibilities and achievements relevant to the job you seek; also include your employment history: include job titles and dates, company names and locations

your most recent education

key skills you’ve learned or developed that would be useful within the position

Sell yourself: talk about your strengths and your unique selling points

Keep your CV honest and factual

Include a cover letter to explain your objective and the value you can add to the organization you’re applying to; summarize your experience

Avoid lengthy sentences and use bullet-points

No clutter: don't go over the top with bold or underlined text, or font sizing larger than 12; keep it simple and clear

Job Interview Preparation Tips

Do your homework and research the company you're applying to: visit their website and understand their activities, current and past projects/achievements; how long they’ve been in the market, etc. Also Google the company for a wider view; find information about their activities in Saudi and worldwide; research their competitors; their position in the market; think how you can add value to the company

Find an insider: find someone who knows the company and who can provide valuable insights into the work you'll be doing

Don’t arrive to the interview late or too early; ten minutes before your interview appointment is ideal

Wear smart clothes and make sure you appear professional

Study your CV and take a couple of extra copies for reference in the interview

Research the people on the interview panel: look at their LinkedIn profiles
